Our aim is to make moments outside the ordinary: Surprising, delightful, peaceful, amusing, thought provoking. Our method is to make these moments happen with elegance and efficiency.

We are a young practice, established in 2012, with two partners, Claire Fernley and James Fox.

James Fox,

James read philosophy at Leeds University (BA), design and technology at Sheffield Hallam University (PgDip), education at Sheffield Hallam University (PGCE) and landscape architecture at Sheffield University (DipLA). He became the Associate Director at Todd Longstaffe-Gowan landscape design in 2006 having previously worked for Jinny Blom on projects including her Laurent Perrier garden for the Chelsea Flower Show (Gold) and design for the Chelsea Harbour Design Centre (Bali Award).

At Todd Longstaffe-Gowan Landscape Design (Associate Director 2006 to 2013), James was the project landscape architect for the following schemes: the re-design of the pleasure grounds at Kensington Palace Gardens (Georgian Group Award), the Hampton Court Palace Trophy Gate Masterplan, the Marylebone Garden of Rest (RIBA National Award), the Artists House, Kensington (Stephen Laurence prize). James is a lecturer on the MA in Historical and Sustainable Architecture at New York University, and on the MA in Landscape Architecture at Greenwich University. He is a member of the South Downs National Park design review panel.

Claire Fernley, Partner, FFLO

Claire trained as a jeweller before taking a Masters in Landscape Architecture at Sheffield University. She is a Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI), and has worked as a senior Landscape Architect at Gillespies LLP running the following projects: The British Museum Roof Garden (with Rogers Stirk Harbor Architects). Oxley Park (with Rogers Stirk Harbor Architects). Mariner House, City of London streetscape. Moore Lane, Barbican, for City of London. Millenium Bridge Landscape for City of London. Devere Gardens (with David Chipperfield Architects) and the remodeling of Warrior Square Gardens, Southend. She has extensive experience of working with the City of London street scene and open spaces planning departments.
